Weekender FAQ’s

The 2020 Shiiine On Weekender takes place from Friday 13th – Monday 16th November. Guests are welcome on resort from 12pm with gold, deluxe and hotel rooms ready to check in to from 3pm and standard and silver accommodation ready from 4pm. Check out is on Monday morning at 10am.
Yes. Shiiine On Weekender is held in a resort so your ticket includes a pass to the music festival and 3 nights accommodation. Because of the venue licence you cannot purchase tickets without accommodation or buy day tickets, so all tickets will include a festival pass + accommodation for 3 nights. Each ticket also includes access to all the onsite entertainment facilities such as the water park, arcades, etc, as well as extra festival fun such as late night DJs, exhibitions and much more!
Once you have bought your Shiiine On Weekender tickets, you will receive a confirmation email from Butlin’s. We do not issue physical tickets but Butlin’s will email you confirmation of your booking. Please ensure you keep this email safe.
The reception area will open from noon on Friday 13th November for check-in. Check out is at 10am sharp on Monday 16th November.

As we have are using the entire Butlin’s site including all chalets for the festival weekend, room cost is included in your ticket price and we’re unable to sell tickets without accommodation.
All resort facilities are fully accessible.
The easiest way to pay is online at bigweekends.com. You can make a payment online, and your card details are safe and secure – all you’ll need is the booking reference number and your payment card details. There’s no card fees, and you can pay the balance in handy instalments to suit you – you’ll just need to ensure that full payment is made 10 weeks before your arrival date. Deposits from £25pp. If you’ve already paid in full then don’t worry – there’s nothing else you need to do!

Wi-fi is available for free for the first 30 mins of each day. If you want to surf longer you can buy passes on resort through your mobile device. Passes cost £15 per device for the duration of your stay.

We need the names, ages and addresses of everyone who’s coming with you no later than 84 days before the event. We want to make this as pain free and easy for you as possible so you can either give them to Butlin’s by:
• Logging in to your account online
• Emailing your details (along with your booking reference) to Guestdetails@Butlins.com
• Calling one of the Buitlin’s team on 0330 1006650
You also need to make sure everyone in your group brings some photo ID with them (passports or photo driving license are fine). Failure to provide identification if asked will lead to refusal of entry
In order to protect the resort experience and accommodation from any damage, a pre-authorisation for payment will be requested upon your arrival at resort prior to check in for £100 per booking, this will be made via your debit or credit card. Your card will not be debited unless damages to your accommodation or that of Butlin’s property are caused. 
As the lead guest on your booking, you are responsible for your entire group.
We ask guests to show consideration towards other guests and Butlin’s team members during their stay. Illegal, aggressive and offensive behaviour including excessive noise will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave resort.
Butlin’s are committed to responsible drinking and will confiscate any excessive alcohol at the resort entrance or from your accommodation during your break and give it back to you at the end of the weekend. You may bring up to 12 440ml cans of lager, beer or cider or 6L of lager or cider in plastic bottles or a 3L box of wine per person or one (maximum 700ml) bottle of spirit per person. You may bring this with you on arrival to the weekend only, there is no re-entry with alcohol. Please be aware that for licensing reasons only drinks bought in resort venue bars may be consumed in the venues. 
Also, you cannot take drinks from one venue to another. Butlin’s have a zero tolerance policy on drugs. Anyone found taking illegal drugs or any other illegal substance will be asked to leave the resort and will not receive a refund for any part of their weekend.

Minicruise FAQ’s

If you’re coming by car, address is Terminal 1, King George Dock, Hull, HU9 5PS.  There is plenty of car parking, either around the perimeter at the front of the Terminal, in the multi storey joined on to the Terminal building, or if it’s particularly busy, in the Overflow car park a short walk away. The cost is £16 for a mini cruise which can either be paid by £1 coins (change machine in Terminal) or by credit/debit card over the phone (following the instructions on the signs).

If coming by train into Hull Paragon Street Station, a taxi to the port will cost approximately £8-£10 one way.

Very simple – just your booking reference and passports for all the people on your booking.

No…any found by Terminal Security will be confiscated, but don’t worry, alcohol prices on board are not like festival prices on land, so relax and enjoy!

Without doubt, the cheapest way is to pre book your meals. Buffet breakfast & Dinner in The Kitchen restaurant, which is an extensive all you can eat buffet, costs £29 per person each way when booked and paid for in advance (ring the Contact Centre on 0800 0100030) or you can pay for individual meals .  The other option is the posher Brasserie restaurant, which is very nice – you can also pre book this or book it once on board either at Reception or in the restaurant.  But do it early, it gets full.

If you don’t do it before hand, you can still do it all on board, it’s just a little bit more expensive.

There is also a Starbucks serving lighter bites in case you get the midnight munchies or you fancy a light breakfast snack with your coffee.

It’s going to be very busy, but on board the Reception team will be able to upgrade you if there any cabins available.  There would be a charge, which will depend on the type of cabin you have booked.

British pounds are just fine and we take credit cards/debit cards.  Contactless also works at the bars etc.

When you arrive at Hull Terminal 1, come to the desk manned by P&O staff who will give you a wristband per person and a map showing the location of the gig.

This is important as the Amsterdam venue is going to be really popular so you’ll need to be wearing that wristband to gain entry, no wristband = no gig!.

Pretty simple, the coaches leave from outside the Terminal in Europoort and take you into Amsterdam city centre, the drop off point is also where you’ll be picked up.  It will take roughly 75-90 minutes. The return coaches will start at 16:00 and the last one is at 17:00 (Dutch time).  Do not be late, if you miss this coach it will hurt your wallet as taxis back to the port are really expensive.

You can buy WiFi vouchers at Reception on board and they work in the public areas.  If you want to use your phone data it will work for a while after leaving port but watch out for it switching to Cellular at Sea, which is expensive.

The shops on board have got some good deals, the Retail shops are on Deck 8 and Alcohol/Cigarettes on Deck 9.

The smoking area is on Deck 12, basically it’s down the steps behind the bar to the covered deck, there’s even a bar out there.

If it all gets too much (but why would it?) – life is quite sedate on deck 12 (Skylounge) so you could head there for a relaxing drink and calming music.

This one is a must…bring an EU continental adaptor for your cabin.  This will ensure that you keep your mobiles charged as well as making sure that hair dryers and straighteners can be used.
