Ride have unveiled their huge new single ‘Lannoy Point’ which you can stream below.
The opening track from new album ‘Weather Diaries’, their first album in 20 years, the track blends their signature sound of dreamy kaleidoscopic shoegaze and Kraut-rock but with added venomn as the four piece take on the political state of the UK.
Speaking about the track frontman Mark Gardener said: “Lyrically ‘Lannoy Point’ is my reflection on what the fuck is going on with all this backward ’Little Britain’ depressing, blind faith, Brexit times we find ourselves in. As I muse on in the chorus, I hope that “A better sense can start again” to find our way out of this mess!”
Meanwhile, bassist Steve Queralt says: “’Lannoy Point’ is the result of going synth shopping in the States. I found an old Poly 61 exactly the same the as one I had when I was very young and the backing track is sound of my bank account emptying as I shipped it back to London”.
‘Lannoy Point’ follows ‘Charm Assault,’ ‘All I Want’ and ‘Home Is a Feeling,’ as tracks shared ahead of the full album release which is set to drop in June 16 through Wichita Recordings.
