Track of the Week: Keyside “Michael (What’s your call?)”

This week comes from one of our favourite bands of the last 12 months once more and sees the hattrick ball for TOTW heading the young scousers way.

The melodies and songs are coming thick and fast for this young band, and it is only building “Michael” is taken from a brand-new EP OUT NOW.

Reflecting on the single, front man Dan Parker explains: “We’re inside Michael’s head for the

verse. But the chorus plays out as a phone call to Michael, from a worried friend. We all know a

Michael. Someone whose friends notice they’re not themselves. Someone who disappears. Someone

who can’t get home. This song is a reminder that reaching out to a friend when they’re struggling can save a life.

The next few months will see the band heading out on a short tour that is virtually sold out – unless you are very quick. A large homecoming date is also on the horizon in the summer as part of the Liverpool waterfront.
