Track Of the Week: Holy Youth Movement ‘Better Together (Hardway Bros Cosmic Intervention Remix)’
Track Of The Week: The Orb – Living in recycled times (feat. Rachel D’arcy)
TRACK OF THE WEEK: NEW ORDER ‘BLUE MONDAY’
This week it feels right to award the TOTW not to a new single, but a track celebrating the 40th anniversary of its release.
An iconic music Staple fully deserved of the superlatives heaped upon it over the last few decades. Iconic , influential , seminal – from the grooves on the vinyl to the fantastic and futuristic artwork of the sleeve by in-house Factory Records artist & designer Peter Saville.
A dance record that exhibited New Orders influences and musical mind-set – transported from the dancefloor of New York clubs like Danceteria and influences of producers & DJ’S Arthur Baker , Jelly Bean Benitez et tal to the maple sprung dancefloor of Whitworth Street West.
40 years on we are still talking and listening to it.
How does it feel , to treat me like you do?
Darren Brooks.
