Track of The Week: YOGI G & THE FAMILY TREE: THE BALLAD OF DAVID BOWIE

Well, it’s been a while waiting for the follow up to last years sublime “Black Symphony” and it has been well and truly worth the wait. What a way to announce the return of Gaz Whelan and his forward-thinking YOGI G music collective with the Eno Morricone-soaked spaghetti western vibes of their nod to the late great David Jones….” The Ballad of David Bowie”

Not only do you get a nod to one musical master, the track features another in the shape of bass duties from Gaz’s great mate and HAPPY Mondays co-founder the sadly missed and brilliant Paul Ryder.     

With Monday’s duties seemingly done and dusted for the foreseeable or maybe even permanently, it’s time for the fruition of the YOGI -G music to come the fore in the shape of a debut album we really can’t wait to hear as well the many in the twitter/X loop that have been following the progress of recordings along the way.
