Track Of The Week: Hard-Fi ‘Now and Then
This week’s pick celebrates the return of Power of Dreams, one of the defining bands of the 90s alternative music and live scene, with their brilliant, self-produced single “Somebody Somewhere”. It is their first material to feature all four original since 2010
Keith Walker reflects on bassist Mick Lennox’s return:
“Having Mick back on board made this recording even more special. He sat
out Ausländer [2021 album], so when we began discussing new music I was
excited to be recording as a rhythm section with Mick again. We’ve been
playing together since we were teenagers, and it just felt great to have him
back in the mix. “
The band’s return to the stage at Forest Fest this summer gave them fresh momentum and reaffirmed their standing as one of the best live acts of that golden era. We’re delighted to welcome them to our sold-out Shiiine On weekender in Minehead in a few weeks’ time – don’t miss them!
Lead vocalist and songwriter Craig Walker reflects:
“The reception to the show was incredible – it was an honour to have Morty
McArthy from the Sultans of Ping tell us that the band still had so much to
offer. This new single was definitely written with the fans in mind”.
“Somebody Somewhere” comes out on Friday 6th November.
See Power of Dreams at the Shiiine On weekender in Minehead on 13 November 2026.
