Track Of The Week: The Hives ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’

REVIEW: blur – The Ballad Of Darren
Track Of The Week Majesty Crush ‘Cicciolina’
This week’s is a new but old one.
A well and truly hidden lost gem worthy of many more people’s attention and ears.
Released originally in 1993 on Majesty Crush debut and only album “Love 15” , “Cicciolina” has been made available for the first time on streaming platforms in recent weeks.
Hailing from Detroit USA – the Majesty Crush story is interesting complex and with a tragic sad ending following the death of lead singer Dave Soughter in 2017.
The band was pigeon holed stateside with the UK wave of early nineties Shoegaze and indie bands – The benefit of such was they became the support band and guests of their peers from the UK on their American tours .Opening up for thr likes of the Verve Slowdive My Bloody Valentine Curve to name a few . And like so many of those and their peers – the sound and depth of material goes beyond the music press sub genre.
Their back catalogue is slowly being trickled on to the usual platforms. Something to keep an eye on if this is your bag. Even better if you can manage to bag a copy of their debut album “Love 15”
