Track of the week: Yogi G and the Family Tree ‘Blind Man and the Monkey’
This week’s TOTW is from Shiiine On favourites and another slice of their proto funk, thoughtful lyrics and anything that floats their boat sound!
Yogi G and the Family Tree have been a concept, sound and idea that has been floating around and bubbling away for a few years now – dipping in and out of our musical world with a few sporadic singles, “Black Symphony” being a standout and setting a high watermark to follow.
The roots have been growing and now the family tree is heading to fruition in a long-awaited album out on the 23rd May titled “Show Me The Truth”
For the uninitiated YGATFT are Happy Mondays founding member Gaz Whelan and fellow musical partner Latch.
The band played an album launch over the weekend in Bury – if you have a scout on the socials there is some brilliant footage and a few album tasters.
Blind Man and the Monkey is available now on all the usual streaming sites with the album released on 23/5/25…. Cannot wait!
